Full Moon in Gemini – The Magus

Welcome to the Full Moon in Gemini, the twins, left and right column energies, which waxed full at 4:29am EST this morning and if you happened to be outside last evening, it was FABULOUS!!!  I don’t think everyone has an appreciation for what an awesome manifestation the full moon is, maybe because people are just so used to it being there every month, it’s like just another day to some, but she always stops me in my tracks, especially the more I learn about astrology and astronomy and the creative forces in our corner of the vast universe.

The moon representing our sensory impressions from our environment and how we feel about them, the foundation of our intelligence allowing us to make sense of those impressions (our mercury energies) they must first be received (our moon energies)  She represents the rhythms of our daily lives…in Gemini she is adaptable and communicative, seemingly a good place for those emotions, but in her need to reach out to others and seeking stimuli for those emotions, she’s not always met favorably by the people she’s reaching out to and THEREIN lies the problem with the Gemini Moon!   In the 8th house, the house of commitment with those encountered in the 7th house, she has a goal of forming a greater whole…perfecting her personal transformation.  The 8th house also represents the final transformation, accompanied by the surrendering of all that is physical, but that doesn’t necessarily have to mean actual death, could be more of a passing through that threshold into favoring your higher senses.

Aspects to our beloved Full Moon are of course the Sun in opposition in Sagitarius, and the opposition to Mercury.  Mercury is important here because as we stated earlier, it’ the foundation of our intelligence…how our minds intellectually process what our emotional receptors are doing.  In Sagitarius, Mercury flows with optimistic information…but Sagitarius’ tendency to sometimes show off can cloud the positive things Mercury is trying to accomplish…so we have to keep that in check so we can share information without show boating and with the Sun sitting side by side with Mercury in Sagitarius we really have to watch HOW we say that which we wish to express.

Today in the Hebrew calendar is the 14th day of Tevet..considered the month of rectification and nullification of the evil eye, coming from the word Tov meaning good, the goodly eye, the source of the power of blessing which is said to begin with gazing into the chanukah candles, which could be symbolic of adding light to the eye.  The twelve tribes of israel symbolically relate to the 12 signs of the zodiac…Tevet is related to the tribe of Gad.  The story of the birth of Gad tell us when Gad was born, Lean, Jacob’s Wife called him Ba-Gad which means, the luck has arrived!  Interestingly Tevet’s controlling planet, Saturn

Limitations , structures, tests in life,  , self-control, maturity  sense of responsibility & fortitude to overcome obstacles & hardships in Scorpio the sign of extremes, Imaginative, passionate, emotional, subtle persistent, intense obstinate and unyielding,  can we use this to assist us in our quest?

Saturn was created by the letter Bet the house, the signifyer of “In”… in Hebrew, when you’re using a noun such house, Beit, to signify being “IN” the house, its b’beit… using the bet prefacing the word to indicate in as in B’ahav or b’ahavah in love, as in signing with love…you’ll notice how I typically sign the moon notices I send out… The RABaD (Rabi Abraham Ben David of Poskires) explains that the power of Saturn comes from the fact that it is a planet of destruction. This is because it is not interested nor does it care about the body’s physical needs, therefore it destroys it. Saturn Saturn is not connected to physicality and this consciousness poses the question, “why do we fear letting go of the material?”. It forces us to reconnect with the spiritual and to understand that success doesn’t come from physical things and that’s why its job is to destroy, to destroy our dependence on the material in order for us to wake up and realize that fulfillment, satisfaction and real confidence can never be taken from us.

So what some might consider the effects of the evil eye, somehow work out to their good without them necessarily seeing it coming.          What did we come here with…besides a plan and the wisdom and knowledge that we brought from past lives, that we set a time for us to be reminded of what those things were, so we would stay on path…we talked a bit last moon festival about the pearl…the prize that we came here to seek and find but we get caught up in the material fascination of this physical world.  So we needed to rededicate ourselves to a plan of how to get back on task…well the sagitarian new moon  didn’t offer much by way of encouragement towards that…gave us a big push but not enough momentum to finish…and this full moon doesn’t offer much encouragement in that direction either except…. but now…we have the full effects of the Gemini full moon, if we can’t get to our goal by one column’s energies, we always have the other, so we can use that polarity, that dual nature to our benefit.   What we lacked momentum in doing with the Sagitarius New Moon, we certainly have the energies to complete now, if we see things as they are, ALL for the good.  If you can’t get there by using understanding ® use wisdom, if you can’t get there using severity try mercy, etc.  allow those paths to become real to you…set an intention to open your crown chakra, opening your consciousness to limitless light and as we take the journey along our meditation today, we’ll move that light to attain understanding…for the goal is still the pearl…and to attain the pearl, one must first know their true self.

Saturn, “the Great Teacher”, teaches us that the spiritual and mental skills we’ve acquired throughout life are our truest assets. Only they can provide us the true sense of joy, happiness and confidence.

The card for the day is the 10 of Wands, the card of oppression, not a negative card, since we’re  taught in the kabbalah the more the children of israel were oppressed, the stronger they became.  10-wands

The Bet in the Thoth Tarot is … I think I’ve waited all year for this card…the Magus.  It is the tree of life path 12, Joining Kether the crown to Binah Understanding.

“the true self is the meaning of the true Will…Know thyself through thy way!

What was the pearl you were sent for?

“Calculate well the formula of thy way.

Create freely absorb joyously divide intently,

consolidate completely work thou omipotent, omniscient, omnipresent in and for eternity.”

“The Magus is not only the title of the Mercurial trump that, in older decks, bears the title Magician or Juggler; it is also a title of the second highest level of spiritual illumination a human soul can attain.”

Crowley describes it as:

Mercury is pre-eminently the bearer of the Wand: Energy sent forth. This card therefore represents the Wisdom, the Will, the Word, the Logos by whom the worlds were created… “The traditional weapons of the Magus are the wand, cup, sword, and disk. “With the Wand,” Crowley observes, “createth He. With the Cup preserveth He. With the Dagger destroyth He. With the Coin redeemeth He.”34 These are the weapons the Magusjoy fully juggles in midair along with four additional symbols: the style, papyrus, torch, and winged egg.”

The Magician represents consciousness, action and creation. He’s the symbol for the idea of manifestation – the possibility of making an idea come true. He gives meaning and direction to life, and he reminds us that the emotional and creative powers of our souls must have a physical basis to be of real use.

The Sphere of Destination is Kether, the Crown, called Rashith ha- Gilgalim, the beginning of whirling, the Primum Mobile or First Mover, which bestoweth the gift of life in all things and filleth the whole Universe.

The Hebrew Divine Name is Eheieh, the Divine Essence.

Binah -We commence our journey in the Sphere of Binah, called the Sanctifying Intelligence and known as Understanding. The Hebrew Divine Name is Jehovah Elohim, the Perfection of Creation and the Life of the World to Come.

The 12th Path is called the Sanctifying Intelligence, the Foundation of Primordial Wisdom,  It is the Creator of Faith. The Divine Name is Aloeth Elohim, Goddess of Goddesses, or the Great Mother.

The color is yellow.

The musical note is “E.”

Our totem animal is the Great Ape, and I chose this particular fella because his stance shows us dual column energy! He’s poised and confident exuding all that he is in his being…strong, powerful, yet commonly gentile and familiar.
